My friend is 5 months pregnant and has become very very low. Obviously ladies put on wieght when having a baby but it is really bothering her, she has gone from a size 8 to a frumpy size 14, she has had a bad break out of spots and she has dark circles under her eyes. She is so miserable and really hates herself at the mo. Every time she looks in the mirror she cries. Are there any other pregnant girls who feel the same? What can I do to make her feel better?

A size 14 is frumpy? I have been a size 14 befoe I was pregnant, I'm almost 6 months pregnant and still fitting into size 14 maternity clothes. Maybe she should try wearing size 8/10 maternity clothes instead of 'frump' size 14 regular clothes.

Ive had a break out in spots but it's a hormonal thing you either get them or you don't just tell her to carry on her normal cleansing routne and to switch to a non-oil based make up.

Hi, My daughter has had a terrible pregnancy, she had morning sickness really bad, she then had spotting and was taken to hospital, she has been ill throughout , she blacked out and crashed her car into parked cars and now she had sciatica. She is really looking forward to having her baby but the journey has not been easy, only today she said to me that she will be glad when she has had the baby and she can get back to her normal way, she feels frumpy and dowdy she said i don't like just slouching about in sweats all day,and i can tell that she is feeling low, i sit with her and tell her that it's all part of being pregnant, her hormones are all over the place, but i tell her it's not forever at the end of it all she will have a beautiful baby and then she can go back to being her normal self, i know not straight away but next year she can get back to normal.. Give your friend lot's of love and support (you sound as if you are there for her when she needs you).My daughter is 34 weeks.

It is due to an imbalance of hormones but she does need to talk to her OB/GYN about this. You could take her out shopping for the baby and maybe for a makeover. Perhaps you could join the spa and go to some exercise classes to help her lose some of the weight she has gained it sounds like she has gained a little too much. Exercise will also help her prepare for the delivery. She is lucky to have friend like you. Feeling this bad while she is pregnant I hope she does OK after the baby is born. Keep an eye on her OK

Take her out for a girls fun day! Go to lunch, go to the movies, buy her a new maternity shirt! Go have your make up done at a beauty counter! Go in for a spa treatment or massage! Tell her you think she is positively glowing! Maybe a new haircut would help her feel better - call the salon ahead and tell them to oooh and ahhh over her because she's not feeling good about herself - those girls will be sooo happy to make her day! Everyone needs a day to feel special - so give her one! Even getting a haircut and going to the movie and going out for ice cream would make anyone's day! What a good firend you are to care so much!!!

It's the hormones &the extra weight!! I feel very sad too about it &even cry because of it sometimes, but my mom always tells me that i have to enjoy my pregnancy, it only lasts 9 months, after this i can & will get back to the size i was & will have the figure i used to, tell her to enjoy herself now!! Tell her how beautiful she looks!! & how cute her baby bump is!! I only feel sad when i see non pregnant girls with their cute little skinny bodies.. makes me miss my old figure! But then i think of my precious little baby growing in me & i feel good again =]

God Bless <3

i was kinda the same while i was pregnant. i went from size 8 to about a 12 ( 7half stone to 11 stone) and i just wouldnt go out to like nights outs n stuff. i just felt disgusting. i felt so horrid its kinda put me off wanting to get pregnant again. its kinda like 'well look at me im fat, why bother doing my hair etc' its good that you care cos sometimes you just get people being like 'oh don't be silly, your JUST pregnant' and it can get lonley and frustrating, just talk to her, let her know you know that she's low and just try to cheer her up. i dont think theres much you can really do.
