Lt. Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL from Patchogue who died in Afghanistan after risking his life to save his colleagues during a 2005 battle, is to recieve the nation's highest combat award -- the Medal of Honor.
Murphy will become only the third person to earn that highest honor since President George W. Bush sent troops to Afghanistan in 2001 and later to Iraq. And the first member of the Navy to recieve the award since Vietnam.

That SEAL couldn't care less who thanks him. He did his duty and HE is damn proud of himself, and his men are alive becuase of him. That is all that matters.

A Medal of Honor is a great honor and we should all be proud of this hero.
It is too bad that you demean this great medal by bringing up a totally unrelated matter. Ever since the last presidential election Republicans have been trivializing military honors.

Wonderful news about Lt. Murphy's recognition, and thank you for sharing that.
Now, perhaps you'll see fit to not besmirch Lt. Murphy's honor by using him as a cudgel for your cheap political point.

I am so sorry that a young man had to loose his life to the war that Bush and Haliburton needed to raise the status of their net worth.
But....before this is over we will have lost many a fine young man and woman in BUSH'S WAR.
