I was friends with a guy at my job. He used to fix my car for free because he is a mechanic and we were good friends. My car had bad problems so he used his credit card and bought me parts for over $500. I told him I would make up a contract to pay him back. he refused. Meanwhile he started dating a co-worker and friend of mine. Once she found out that I owed him money she harrassed me almost daily via phone and texts. She claimed it was him but he never acted like that. She got her friends to call my cell and actually went to my dad's house telling him I cursed her out and refused to pay. I don't live at home btw. My dad was mad at me for being bothered and he believed her! I agreed to pay him $20 a week and what I could but I stopped talking to both of them because of all the harassing. Involving my family really made me enraged. What would you do?

I introduced the two of them and she was a close friend to me at one point. She was over my apartment and in my pool daily then she turns on me? It was horrible. I tried to make good with the $ but I couldn't take the harassing and involving my family.

She sounds like a jealous crazy beep!! Haha if he has done all of this for you, he most definitely has feelings for you. She knows this and is threatened. Just put your weekly check in the mailbox and keep track of what you have paid, don't bother with those two. Continuing to pay the money will make her look silly and he'll feel like a jerk for the way you were treated. Maybe with the first payment include a letter expressing your feelings (but nothing mean) and your intent to pay back every penny as soon as you can. Maybe even ask for receipts?

Pay him each week with a check, in the memo put balance owed, with the first check write a thank you note and let him know that you will be sending him checks each week and thank him for fixing your car, also let him know that he said you didn't owe him anything but you wanted to pay him

Tell them both to take a hike!
Make your payments through the mail and use checks for your receipt.
Send a thank you note to him for his prior help with 1st payment.
