Why is it that in california,people are much more accepting of other races and race doesn'yt really play into

the picture?I know people are kinda stuck up there,but there it seems like people intermingle with each other frely regardless of background.

One guess is that many of us went to school with people of many races (African-American, Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic, etc). We 're just used to the variety. There was this Hawaiian girl from my teen years........

this is the case in most cities where the minority are less of a minority and the majority are less of a majority. It also helps that the people tend to be more educated and more worldly (ie citizens of the world). I am not sure where you live but your generalization of california isn't as accurate in the smaller towns and new york city, boston anc chicago are more diverse and diversity accepting cities than los angeles. My favorite is NYC, i am black and i didn't even realize how diverse blacks were till i went to NYC.
