Anyone can be fooled at any time. For example, look how close this dolt came to becoming president. Dubya was the 'lesser of two evils' in that year (you think Dub is bad, 'Tin Soldier Gore would have been ten times worse!). And the Peace Prize? Since when does science have anything to do with peace?
While I agree with his message on global warming, I see the man as a hypocrite. If he believed what he's pushing, he'd dump the Hummer and all his other gas guzzlers and go hybrid. Hypocracy should have eliminated him from the running for ANY kind of prize.

I thought about him sharing the Nobel prize with others and what they plan to do with their new fame and prize money. To some he may indeed be the new image of a huckster as you say; To others he simply found something to write about and gain a loyal audience while earning large amounts of money.

The Noble prize/organization was already proven to be a nonsensical group with a media/anti-USA president (GWB) agenda... when they tabbed a Jimmy Carter following the Sept. 11th attacks (when there was unrest/murder in Palestine/Israel amping up?) and USA response to rid Afghanistan/Iraq of killers (thus, attempting to join nations proactively for peace and less terror all across Asia, Africa, mideast and Europe). That Nobel might have gone to Bush and/or GB's prime minister... but, nope.
Gore has been for the environment for 30 years, yet he finally turns one of his mansions to Solar Power in July of 2007? after criticisms & being out-ted after this umpteenth media event after his film's producers (not Gore, by way) won the Oscar?
This is typical limo-liberal stuff.. where he can fly using private jets (gas guzzlers), use energy all he wishes in mansions for decades... and actually not speak to ELIMINATING the Fed. MPG Standards for all autos (taking 2-3 seconds in the film to wash-over his 8 YEARS in the WHITE HOUSE!), NAFTA.. and allowing soccer moms to drive mega-ton SUVs (that get 8-13 mpg!) without requring a truck license?

Well as far as I concerned they give Nobel peace prices out like they were candy. Just think of it this way they gave one to Arafat so they don't have much creditability in my book lol..

He is pointing out serious problems facing the world, and is trying to help correct them.
If he Got a Nobel, then a lot of intelligent, knowing people must believe he is on the right track, most people who are able to formulate an intelligent thought do.

He didn't ask for it. You are awarded it!
I beleive you are awarded this prize when you spend a lot of time, research, adopting a trusted team of environmentalist/scientist,engineers/etc...committed to a mission bigger than yourself.
I beleive he used his political position well for this cause.
Did anyone read his book or see the movie?

Al Gore won because A) he is a socialist hack and B) he is anti-Bush and anti-American (no, the two are not the same thing, but he is both).
