Imagine yourself in solitude in a cave from society or just in a place with no one there, just thinking. What comes to mind? Fears, ideas, what you left behind, what you miss, what you don’t miss, reflect on the world.. What have you learned so far, from the society, from the world. What is interesting? Which culture, beliefs, and traditions do you like? Which don’t you like or want in society?

Would you want to go back to society, what kind of society would you want to encounter. If you wanted to change something in society what would it be, what would you bring back to society if you could?

Or maybe you want to stay in the cave because you don’t like what you see in society. why would you stay?

I always imagine the possiblity of such an escape, except for me it's not a gave but a hill somewheer far off where everywhere you look is green fields, maybe some trees, maybe some random animals every so often but no people, no civilization, no houses.

I think given time and proper isolation everyone can become a stronger and better person, more fully aware of themselves and able to tackle on issues and ideas they never thought possible b/c they were too distracted.

I would love to be able to spend an entire year in this "cave" of yours away from everyone else in order to find myself and try to solve all the problems I could. Then I could come back enlightened and share my knowledge with the world. Whenever things become too overwhelming I would always be able to retreat back to the "cave" and start anew.

That's the best case scenario I think.

i seek isolation all the time. Try to get out of this huge city (Paris) , it's crowded polluted streets, it's tourists, the lack of air, the overdose of cement.. I long to find a cave, maybe not alone, but with someone with whom i could learn from for years, and then change cave, go somewhere else, far and discover more, and meet, along the road, other 'outlaws', share about our views, our discoveries our passions. it could be nice, imagine people from all over the world (imagine the size of the cave...), like a neo Babel tower, all different languages, knowledges and cultures mixed up and i dare hope, in a way, harmonized...

Nice question. I would feel free because i generally don't like people because most are jerks and backstabbers. My thoughts prolly would scare me because i would have all the time in the world to think in my own pool of thoughts. I would miss my family, and i would not miss the general attitudes of society of the way we should think and live our lives.. I have learned that people can be very shallow and only like people for certain reasons, but i have also learned alot of people are not like that and probably never will be.
Beliefs i have are just because someone doesn't go to church doesn;t mean they do not believe in god. I think being holy is more about how you treat other people and treat yourself ; not about preaching others into the fear of god.
If i could get out of society...I would just wish for peace on earth. I would wish for everything to go the way i wanted it to go. If society were near perfect i would.wanna go back ..but yeah...these are only wishes. I would return going back to what I enjoyed doing with people i enjoyed doing it with in pure bliss.

How could I possibly say?
I am a child of the world, my every day is a whirl of action and reaction whether I like it or not.
The only way to find a true answer to your questions for me, would be to go to that cave and stay there for a long time - until the whirlwind in my brain stilled down. i couldn't predict the outcome though.
Which is why hermits seek solitude, I guess.
Cheers, Steve.

It would be nice to getting away from my crazy life at times but I would miss someone to make me laugh, talk about my ideas and dreams too, I would miss the sound of music as I love music and it is a major part in my life, I would miss my food a cave meant no cooker so I could not have all the foods I like. From society I have learn people and be cruel, cold and stab you in the back but people can also be compassionate, good listens, shoulders to learn on, be there when everyone else walks out. So people can be the salt of the earth and others just bad apples, I always tread careful to know which one is which. I learned that being angry unforgiving and judging people is wrong, forgiveness, acceptance and love is the key to a happier life. The whole world is interesting from people to places, I like old fashion traditions such as romance, the idea for treating people as we wish to be treat ourselves and not judging them or taking them for granted, giving family and friends your best side, people are more important then money and possessions. Greed and hatred are things society can do without. I would bring back the believes of old fashioned romance, caring for your neighbour, accepting people for who they are not judging them manipulating them, they have faults too just be nice to them as you would wish them to be to you. I guess I would teach people to believe in themselves not listen to others negativty and to live as they believe not concerning themselfs about others judgements just being the best person they can be loving and forgiving and accepting people no matter what colour, race and sexuality they are.

Couldn’t imagine it. Well maybe. We go spelunking one day and there is a cave in now we got to get out. Yeah as much as we’d like to run away from society we can’t. It is as much a part of us as we are of it, more so really.

I did spend a couple of weeks in a wilderness without human contact once. As you have nothing to check your emotions your mind races from acute loneliness to sublime contentment and all the levels between. Its both a scary and a beautiful place to be and i shall, when i summon up the courage, go back.

I would stay because I think I might enjoy the sights, sounds, smells, sensations and tastes I could find for myself in that cave.

I could also catch up on sleep and exercise, and if I have a coffee maker, surely I could be happy.

sucks...because there is a lot here that i worked her.

but kind of cool because I have to learn to survive by myself.

the world is great. society doesn't matter. you can always do your things in society, at least American society. Society doesn't make you do anything, you choose how what to do.

Assuming my basic needs are met. Food, Clothing, Shelter, Sanitation :)

I think I would stay in my cave.

I am a happy loner!
