"Civilization" refers to a high state of cultural sophistication associated with life in cities--roads, temples, farming projects, armies, early written records, organized priestly castes, and international trade were all hallmarks of early civilization in Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Indus River Valley, and Shang China.
These areas are known as "cradles of civilization" (c. 3000-2000 BC) because they are the first places on earth that civilization began--elsewhere, people did not live in settled farming communities and were mostly nomads. Egyptian civilization would last 3000 years; Mesopotamian civilization often collapsed and reformed again under new regional powers; the Indus Valley Civilization completely disappeared; and China was on its way to its future as a great imperial state.

Mesopotamia was the Indus valley, or Iraq. This was the first areas that were settled and farmed, for the first time. China was far behind, they liked to call themselves "first" but were not. India was not considered there either 'nor was Egypt.
Sometimes around ten to twelve thousand years ago man first started growing wheat and, other grains rather then trying to find them in the wild, they then of course settled the area and stopped being nomadic.

"Cradle" is where the baby is. So, it's a term used to describe a point in history when man's civilization was at it's early stages.
Mesopotamia (btw, i believe you have a typo there), Egypt, India and China are places where historical records and archaeological finds seemed to go the farthest back in time.

because as far as the current accepted theory goes (historical theories are subject to change due too new discoveries), india, china, eygpt, and mesepotamia had the oldest know fully developed civilisations in the world. in a sense they were the first great civilisations of the world. so being the first they give these locations the label, "cradle of civilisation". hope it helps.

yup I have right before ending my first marriage. I even had a friend that was interested in helping me. But I was just really starved for attention, confused about my life and well a bit curious. I didn't want to end up hurting her in my confused state so I didn't allow anything to begin. She was sweet and if I was going to switch I would give her a call.
