They are just trying to hold onto something they can't let go of. If it makes them feel better then I don't have a problem with it. It can be hard to let go of a beloved pet, and if taxidermy relieves the grief, then more power to them.

personally I would not do it, but some people have had their pets for so long it would be like when they cremate a person and the keep their ashes in an urn and have it on a mantle. It may be creepy to some but for the ones who do it, it's their way of showing their love for that person or animal.

What do you advise your dad killed him!? what's that approximately?! As to the taxidermy - to each and each his very own. Roy Rogers made a habit of it and that i know of a few different people who've had their former pets filled as quickly as they died. individually, it creeps me out!

Gross and disgusting. Just as bad to have your pet cremated and put on your mantle. Bury them. They aren't coming back. Take some pictures while they are alive to enjoy later. People that do this need to get a life!

Eww I hate the idea of having a dead animal's head mounted on a wall since it's creepy and I'm an Animal lover.

if their pet died and they want to taxiderm the body the i think thats cool. i mean its a way to keep your pet with you. same as keeping the water dish with their name on it.
if they go buy a puppy then taxiderm it then their just stupid.
and yes i said taxiderm because i decided its the past tense version of the action of taxidermy.

Love can take weirdest of forms. Such people are mentally sick and need urgent medic help.
I won't touch such people with even a barge pole.

I personally would never do it, but if someone wants to I think it is OK. I would just be so sad looking at my best friend stuffed, and wishing it were the real thing!

It's a little odd. If it makes them feel better, than good for them. I wouldn't want to be near one of their "pets" though.

WEIRD!!!! Sick, creepy, odd. I would never date or hang out with someone who stuffed their dead pet. I think it speaks to deep seated psychological issues!!!!
