I have lost the manual.
I have something caught (like part of and old raggy towel) caught around the base of the center spinle thing. In my old washer I could just shimmy the center thing up and out but this one doesn't want to move.
Does anyone know how to get the center piece out? Does it screw out some how? Can i get the little cap off and unscrew it some how? Please help....my laundry is piling up out of control!I haven't been able to find the manual online at all.
It is a Kenmore laundry center Model number 417.99160110

Go to Kenmore's website and look for the manual, most products have an online equivalent.

Hi Pirates,

Yes on the top of the agitator (center spindle thing), you should be able to unscrew it and lift the agitator off the shaft. Although if you have water in the machine or if the machine old this could be very difficult to remove on your own. The top of the agitator is usually held on by a 3/4 or 1" nut. Unscrew that and it will come off the shaft with a little muscle. Try to empty out as much water as you can first, if water is still in the tub.

take care!

Kenmore is usually made by Whirlpool so look at the Whirlpool site and see if you can find one that looks like yours. There is a site, that I used to visit, called if I remember right, www.appliancedoctor.com
