Male Sex Drive

Sexual function in men is a combination of motivation or sex drive/desire and mechanics i.e., the equipment working properly. These two functions are by no means separate and distinct. An erection begins with sensory and mental stimulation. Impulses from the brain and local nerves cause the release of nitric oxide that cause the muscles of the penis to relax allowing blood to flow into the spongy tissue of the penis making it hard. Man's ability to have an erection is a recurring miracle of hydraulic engineering.
Since a man's erection requires a sequence of events, problems can occur when any of these are disrupted such as nerve impulses in the brain, spinal column and area of the penis. It also requires a corresponding response in muscles, fibrous tissues, veins and arteries near and in the penis. Problems can come from many sources: for example those caused by medications for blood pressure and depression among others. Difficulties can also arise from physical problems such as hardening of the arteries that restricts the flow of blood into the penis.

Increase male sex drive

Possible solutions:

Risking over simplification we will endeavor to keep it to a two-step problem and three-step solution.

Problem 1:

No desire/no sex drive. Cause – lack of nerve stimulation in the brain: Think of it as priming the pump - the body has to want to do it. The want/sex drive/desire is controlled by testosterone stimulating nerves in the brain.

Solution 1:

Replacing testosterone to healthy levels should take care of sex drive and often also takes care of issues of sexual mechanics or function by causing the body to produce the all important nitric oxide.

Problem 2:

Desire is there but mechanics/function is not where it should be. If desire is there but the mechanics are still not what they should be, you need to look to something that will increase the flow of blood in the penis.

Solution 2a:

That substance is nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is produced in several areas of the body. A key area of production is the walls of the arteries. Arteriosclerosis (build up of plaque in the arteries) inhibits the production of nitric oxide and also contributes to blocking the flow of blood particularly to the There are several alternatives available to counter this and we would suggest you take it in stages. There are non-prescriptive products that contain things like L-Arginine, gingko biloba, etc. that work nicely as an assist to mechanics by increasing levels of nitric oxide and blood flow. There are many of these products on the market and we have looked long and hard to find one with a good formula and a manufacturer. We like a product called Male Performance Plus. This product also contains yohimbine to aid in nerve stimulation but in such quantity that it should not be a risk to increased heart rate.

Solution 2:

If the problem still persists, the next step is to use something like prescription Viagra for men, which adds significant amounts of nitric oxide to the blood. We have found the above process for dealing with sexual function in men takes care of 90% of the problems. We would also advise approaching the problem in the above sequence. An anecdote makes the point: We had a call recently from a gentleman who was 47-years-old and had been put on Viagra by his doctor to deal with some sexual performance concerns. He called us stating that he had a good erection but no desire to use it.

We recommend that our clients take care of the hormone issues first by getting testosterone replaced to a healthy level and proceed from there as necessary. As frequently is the case, when we raised the above gentleman's testosterone he found he did not need the Viagra.

Strange. I am frequently told that I'm more straight than most straight guys. I do not take it as a compliment. Nor do I take it as an insult. It's just a comment or an observation. I completely agree with you on your observations about being gay and effeminate. Anyone of us who are still hung up on the "macho = good and feminine = bad" classification is practicing old-school masogynism to start with. There is no good or bad in trait expression; they're just different. I take exception with one thing you said. You do not act effeminate by choice for the following reason: You said in the next breath you had always acted that way. It's who you are, sweety and forcing yourself to be someone else is completely, totally wrong. When I first came out, I had that same hangup you rail against and made the same stupid snotty comments so many gay men make about femme guys. Then it dawned on me: Would the fact that I like football and boxing have any impact on someone who is straight? The fact is, I like being between a man's legs - would being more "manly" about it make a dime's worth of difference? Of course not! After that breakthrough it was pretty easy to realize how utterly trivial and totally inconsequential masculine/feminine expression is. The best relationship I ever had was with a guy who was quite feminine. It worked wonderfully! He loved decorating, arts and crafts - the whole stereotypically feminine gay package. I'm no good at it. I love working outside. We complemented each other extremely well. I was devastated when he kicked me to the curb. Your question was more of a rant, by the way :) But it's a rant that should be had more often. The whole notion of value in masculinity should at least be dispelled in our community.

Ehm..
I'm a medical researcher. Neuropathy is not a single disease instead, it is a complication found in a number of different underlying medical conditions. Seek medical care right away if you notice any unusual tingling, weakness or pain in your hands or feet. Early diagnosis and treatment offers the best chance for controlling your symptoms and preventing further damage to your peripheral nerves. If your symptoms interfere with your sleep or you feel depressed, your doctor or pain specialist may be able to suggest treatments that can help.

A good natural program I recommend to help you cure your neuropathy can be found here http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=569

Men go through a "male menopause" also. If you have a physician get your hormones tested. This could be one reason.

When you masturbate, what are you fantasizing about? If you're not masturbating and not getting aroused by either sex, then you might want to have your testosterone levels checked by your doctor.
