I think the world of Star Trek is a reality now or will be very soon. Free and comprehensive Information about any subject known to humans and Instant Communication with anyone and everyone on the planet at my fingertips (no more card catalogues), limited only by my interests and my intellect. Fear that somebody (totalitarian authorities) wll use the internet to control humanity for all the bad reasons destroying the gift of universal, equal access to knowledge.

sidenote: Asking alot of Q's and picking BA's ,I've honed my ability to word very sharp and provocative Q's in philosophy which complements my reading of books on the subjects of interest to me. I highly recommend the experne of asking good Q's to anyone open to listening.

Internet has become the super source of information where before we relied on limited, puny sources like libraries and school to research information. Today, we can access everything at the click of the keyboard for handy information at our fingertips. But of course, advances will still be made. Time will come when internet will be available in smaller gadgets like our wrist watch or maybe a chip inserted in our body without the use of video or audio but merely implanted neurologically. Who knows?

It hasn't - I grew up with it, nothing changed. My first memory of it is playing a Thomas the Tank Engine flash game when I was four.

Two ways: 1) found out there are plenty of people who think like me out there, here at home they are hard to find; 2) met my husband online, albeit he lived two streets over, would never have known had we not connected online.
