Economic success appears to thrive; but at what cost in moral and spiritual terms? Where does the wealth go anyway? Not to those who most deserve or need it; why must the system of a so-called civilisation still operate as this?

human, I see 98% of human affairs as a single non-thought driven entity, devoid of any divergence, originality or personality; needy and greedy with no consideration for anything but its own ends - I shall continue to address it in the singular until the day it deserves some respect - nicely spotted though.

Because we are just poor humans. And us humans tend to be out for ourselves or those in our close circle. On a theoretical level we care about those who deserve or need things, but on a practical level, we want to get the most of what will get us the most. It's just what's been programmed into our oversized human brains that's got us to where we are today. Trust me, it's not the reptilian brain that's got us into such a fix - it's all those unecessary add ons to the basic mammalian brain that's causing all the problems.

It must continue as it is because love it or loathe it it is the only form of civilisation that has proved itself capable of longevity. It has been going now in various forms for the past 8 or 9,000 years. Until we have something we can prove is better, that is fairer, that works on a long time scale, we are stuck with it.

I disagree with the reptilian brain part, and the spiritual part is still a work in progress for those that are aware enough to acknowledge it even exists. Yes there is a spirit-- to ignore or disallow for same puts you into a primate-ive dead-end existence ending in death or worse. Acknowledging a God, and serving same, is the only sane recourse for those of us blessed with eternal life. Your life means something-live like it! Economic success is moot.

because the majority of people are basically greedy and selfish - you will have to change human-nature before you can change the system
