Well my friend, i was just like, until my teacher lighted me the way and helped me to engage this domain.
He told me: there's no journlist with no work in this era if he got a pen.
It's because what we call "freelance journalism".
So i started writing some aticles, which helped me a lot. But what was of much benefit, was a report that i've wrote about the "violance in video games" and i went one of the leading newspapers in my country, so they published it. Since then, am welcomed to report and write for them, and they pay for every published work.
So start looking around you, there must be something you can write about, and local newspapers might be interested in.

All the best
Regards

Go online to your local tv stations website and most stations offer a internship in most dept.(news, operations, etc.) the station i work at offers in both departments and i know several people that work there now that where once interns.

thats out job page, and it list the intern places too.

Just try getting a job or internship, it helps you get a foot in the door. working in TV is a very fluid place to be. there is always bigger and better unless you work in New York DMA #1. Good luck to you.

Just pound the pavement and put in your applications, then make the follow-up call, the same as if they were advertising an opening. Be willing to do anything menial. I would advise that you resist the temptation to quit school and go fulltime, even if they offer it to you.

does your college have a radio station? if they do go there. Just go out to your local tv stations and radio stations with a resume and ask them if theirs anything they would like you to do. Say you can be an intern for them
