I think a lot of bands jump the shark, (good charlotte for example) And yes I think a lot of them do coincide with rehab!

The minute Peter Gabriel left Genesis, they became dreadfully dull.

David Bowie's last great album was Diamond Dogs; since then his appeal has been spotty

Yes I think bands jump the shark and it may have something to do with their substance abuse habits but also sometimes there is only so many good songs you can write and as some of these people get older they are not as good live.

Bands definitely jump the shark but the reasons are varied: some do it by watering down their material (Metallica), some do it by switching vocalists (Van Halen), some by jumping on trends (Anthrax) and others do it by reworking their material (Eric Clapton "Layla," Bon Jovi "This Left Feels Right) all done to have a greater chance at mainstream success or increase their fan base. Either way they do it, you wish that the jump would fall short and the shark eats them whole.

Bryan Adams not only jumped the shark, he jumped over the whole damn ocean with that Robin Hood ballad. He *used* to rock.
Oh, and Kiss.... they've jumped the shark so many times that the shark doesn't even bother to swim menacingly anymore. I love 'em, but they've had more lives than Axl has had months to complete Chinese Democracy.

Absolutely they do and sometimes is does coincide with rehab. One notable exception is Social Distortion. Their most recent album, Sex Love and Rock & Roll is their best to date. But last time I saw them play, it sure looked like Mike Ness was off the wagon...

Without a doubt. KISS jumped the shark a few times (The Elder, "Phantom", Tommy Thayer).

i like journey myself yet I thoroughly understand whilst somebody isn't a fan of their song. as an occasion I even have heard somebody say that the music Separate strategies (worlds aside) is cheesy. i will see the factor even in spite of the undeniable fact that i like that music. yet whilst somebody have been to assert like the music do no longer end Believing is cheesy i does no longer purchase that bullsh*t for a 2d this is a great music. I mean even non followers of journey that i understand like that one music. i do no longer purely like the band gadget in any respect. yet they do have particularly some musical skills and abilities. in spite of the indisputable fact that, i like the band Downset, a hardcore band with rap advantageous properties that are actually not so musically proficient yet they have MASS means and purely songs that groove. Yes, absolutely. Case in point: Metallica. They are such ball less ninnies since they've stopped drinking.
