I'm engaged and I'll be married in 3 weeks. Other than that everything is still the same.

The BAD ...
The Ex (from a short disaster of a marriage ... he was violent, abusive and a sociopath) ... BURGLARIZED my HOME yet again (August 2006) with the Willing Help of an Adult Child ... I DID file the Police Report, and can't do anything more EXCEPT wait to see what happens through the legal system (I am NOT holding my breath ... since he resides out of state, he took what he stole from my HOME to California, and he sold the things ... destroyed things, whatever ... I'll never see the stuff again).
The GOOD:
I am FINALLY ... an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree! (I was a Long Term Single Parent of TWO children -- both with disabilities). I get MY PENSION and MY HOME FINALLY to MY SELF!
Also .. I was FINALLY able to ENJOY Life a bit over the past year .. travelled around, visited my siblings, and ...
When I was NOT expecting it ..
On a Neighboring Farm, found someone special ... a kind, gentle, caring, loving REAL Man .. who cared enough to first talk to MY siblings about dating me .. let them KNOW about him, and yes, I DID start dating this man (and we are sharing e-mails, voice-mails, and photos now since we are separated by a couple thousand miles while I sell my HOME) ... who knows where this will go from here .. but I am VERY much HAPPY and THRILLED that a real Love has come into my life (at this stage of my life!).

My mother passed in July of last year and during that time I also found the love of my life. He and I had been friends for a few years and I never considered dating him. I fell in love with him after seeing how he was there for me during my mothers illness and after her passing. A year later I'm still so very much in love with him, we were always good friends , we'd hang out all the time and now I have a Friend and a Lover, the best of both worlds. So in a nutshell something bad and something good happened.

I got engaged, and I'm getting married next Saturday (the 20th). I bought a house, had a car wreck, bought a new car, changed jobs. Yeah, a lot of things have happened to me, but nothing bad (except the wreck).

ALOT different! The main differeneces being that I had just moved here to BC just over a year ago from Alabama, was still settling in and was single, and today I am definately settled here in BC and am engaged! So definately good!!

A year ago today, I was just starting to live with the roommate from hell. Although, it didn't start off like that, it sure did end like that. Now, I live with my guy and am happier than I have been in a while.

I feel like my entire life has done a 360. For the first time that I can remember I am living life for me. Doing and saying things that mean something to me. I am allowing myself to be happy totally happy.

I'm not clinically depressed anymore.
I have a stable, "real" job.
My grandmother isn't with us anymore :(
But my cousin had a baby :)
So yeah, I'd say on the whole, things are better.

Well, I've got a different job, I'm living in a different house, and I've got another ex-wife...................... so, yeah, things are a little different..................... for the better, though!! :-)
