A=(3.5) * (2.75)
A=9.625 (=9 5/8)

expand the fractions:
A=bh
A=(3 1/2)(2 3/4)
3 1/2 = 7/2
2 3/4 = 11/4
multiply these:
7/2 x 11/4 = 77/8
This equals 9 5/8 = A
