In my brothers class there was a boy making trouble and our math teacher mrs. armstrong told him he better pay attention and listen to pull up his bad grades. Another boy poked and laughed at him and our teacher mrs. armstrong told him to shut up and stop talking because he is also flunking the course. Is these two insults by my brother's teacher to the two students a funny?

Those responses might seem funny to us, but Mrs. Armstrong sounds like she truly cares about the education those boys are receiving. She was speaking exact truth. I don't think there was any humor intended to be there, and I do not find what she said to be insults at all - she's just telling the boys to straighten up.
