You should buy one by what you like, for example - PS3 is great if your into the high tech graphics. 360 is great if your into action packed games, and rpg's. Wii just sucks all around.

I would definitely suggest the Xbox 360 or the Wii, and here's why:
The Wii has the backing experience of one of the world's greatest video game companies (and my personal favorite), Nintendo. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption is one of the coolest action/adventure shooters out there, and it is definitely worth buying. Plus, with Super Smash Bros Brawl coming out in February (they knocked back the release date in the Americas, if you didn't know), the Wii is definitely a must-have system if you've played previous versions. There are also downloadable games through the Wii Shopping Channel, with everything from the very first Super Mario Bros to Ocarina of Time and Paper Mario. Granted, you have to go out and buy "Wii Points" to purchase said games, but depending on what games you get, they can be well worth it.
Then, there's the Xbox 360. Killer graphics, amazing online capabilities, and incredibly awesome games like Gears of War, Bioshock, and Halo 3. Another great thing about the 360 is the achievements. Every 360 game in existence, including Xbox Live Arcade games, has certain, sometimes secret, goals that you must complete to unlock Achievement Points, which make up your GamerScore. One of the greatest things about the 360, IMO, is its unprecedented flexibility in online play. While in the midst of battle in Halo 3, you can effortlessly create a private voice chat with one of your friends, and carry on a conversation, even if they're playing an entirely different game! There are downloadable demos of nearly every game in existence, which let you play through a level or two of the game, and give you a good idea of what the whole game is like, and can help you figure out if you want to go out and buy it or not.
Finally, the PlayStation3. I don't really know much about the PS3, but I've never really had good experiences with it. the new, less expensive one has removed PS2 the backwards-compatibility present in the other PS3 versions. the motion-sensitivity in the SixAxis controllers are somewhat clunky and unresponsive, and most GOOD games that are or will be available for the PS3 are most likely to be cross-platform, so if you have a 360 you can get it on there instead.
While each system has its ups and downs, it's completely up to you which one you get. Personally, I have a Wii, and I intend to get an Xbox 360 within the next week or so. I'm probably not going to get a PS3 until the price is down to maybe $200. of course, by then, the PS6 will probably already be out. xD

ok i honestly say thte xbox 360
but each have there own quality
the Xbox 360
you should get thisone if ur interested in sooters like halo, rainbow 6 , or ghost recon. if you dont like to play shooters then i highly suggest u dont get the xbox 360.
The Playstation 3
If you ask me this system is to over priced the graphics arent as good as the xbox 360 ( dont let ne 1 tell uw rong i own all three of the next gen systems) but it has some very good games like ninja gaiden sigma, resistance fall of man.. 2 very excellant games. and more are gonna comeout
The Wii
I would choose the Wii over the PS3 any day not over the 360 though. the wii is good for if u like kid games and funn games. the Wii is also a good workout console. The Wii sports that comes with the Wii. Is really a good game all the sports that you play in that game are actually like u were playing the real sport in real life.
so my recomendations from 1-10 are
xbox 360 = 10
Wii = 7
PS3 =5
dont get me wrong the PS3 is a good system just over priced and not woth it

It all depends on what you want to do...If you want BluRay functionality, Hi-Def Graphics, a Beasty HDD and Internet Browsing, then get PS3. If You Want Microsofts Problems, Get XBOX 360, If you want to experience a new way of playing games, and the trust of an experienced gaming company, get Wii....

I've got a 360 and a wii, and I'd recommend getting a 360. Or if you don't want one of those, get a PS3, just for the love of god, don't get a wii, it's almost worthless.

It depends on your age, the games your into, and do you have any kids, the wii is kid friendly with classic games, the 360 is model after a pc system, and the ps3 is more of a muitmedia system.

PS3. It has the potential for games with much higher technical requirements than any other console. That and 360 has a lot of servicing issues. PS3 is more reliable.
