it's been ten million years since i've done this sort of thing.

it's for a program to determine the number of intersections (points) in an even hex grid with a radius of x.

(for example: a grid of 7 hexes, x = 1.
for a grid of 91 hexes, x=5.)

4(x! + (x+1)^2) +2(x+1)
= 4x! +4x^2 +8x +4 +2x+2
= 4x! + 4x^2 +10x +6

4x! + 4x^2 + 10x + 6
4x! + 4 (x+1) (x+3/2)
