This is an algebra question.
The heat in the two containers will be equal.
So, let B = the amount of boiling water (212 degrees)
36 x 1 + 212 x B = 130 (1 + B)
36 +212B = 130 + 130B
82B = 94
B = 1.14634146 = about 1.15 quarts

I'll admit that my days of working in the school science labs are LONG behind me, so the links, below, will have to suffice.

They mention that the loss of heat (a basic thermodynamic element) is critical in this calculation, so that has to be taken into account.
