I live in Arkansas and in all the years I've been here, I've never seen a person wit only one shoe on out in public. No shoes yes, but not just one shoe.

Well, being from Arkansas, I would say he lost one since it is really hard to find shoes there, Maybe he got tired of his wife being bare foot and pregnant, so he fought it was a form of Birth control and gave her one of his shoes.

This is what happened...... He found a pair of shoes then a very attractive woman. They were married and soon divorced. He had to give up one shoe in the battle.
