i am normally quite laid back as you know but that man sets my teeth on edge grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :)

No, I don't find him in the least annoying. He's intelligent, educated, articulate, cultured, entertaining and doesn't take himself too seriously. Let's have more of him ... and less of the real twerps who grace (or should I say DISgrace) our screens.
(I haven't seen the advert but presume he is only reading from a script and acting as he is directed to do.)

I used to find him intensely irritating. However, one advantage of not having a TV is that I am no longer subjected to his smugness.
