Meat Puppets - Lake of Fire

I would have to think this song would be loads of laughs because it hasn't been played into the ground and Curt's high pitched vocals are crazy good fun.

Oh man, more so just because they're bar standards and I, though I have no religion, pray every day that I can make it through another day without hearing them. Sweet Home Alabama The Joker They are always greeted with such boisterous joy too. Makes me absolutely ill. Bring on the hate. ******************** Oh wow, I answered before I read, I guess I have a litle support here. I didn't think of it before, but I'm really glad that You Shook Me All Night Long was brought up. I need at least a 5 year break from that song. And JMike painted the scenario perfectly. It's funny, I've actually never heard Sweet Caroline at a bar before. I don't mind the song, but I could definitely see absolutely despising it if it was played to the same frequency as ACDC and Skynyrd out here.. and Lovenrckts, I'll sing in that chior, Marley and Buffet must go. For some reason, you get someone drunk and put on Bab Marley and all of a sudden the douche bag factor increases exponentially, and honestly it's never a good time for Jimmy Buffet. ***************** Sookie, I never thought about that aspect of it. I honestly cringed when I read that. Gross.

I have to go with two songs from my college days of attending my morning classes, stopping to grab a quick burger and then heading to the campus pub the second it opened for dollar pitcher day. It was a Wednesday ritual.

We started the day with the same two songs every week:

I Wanna Be Sedated - The Ramones
A Girl Like You - The Smithereens.

No, I don't know why. We just did. But because of that, I think they need to be on every jukebox everwhere.

Honorable Mention to Add It Up by the Violent Femmes. :)

*******
Thanks, guys! After reading some of these answers, if there were a bar with this Jukebox, I'd definitely want to go drinking there! :)

Can Wednesday be dollar pitcher day?
*******
Sweet! Pool tables and dollar pitcher day(s)! Yesssss!!!! :)

"Have a Drink on Me" by AC/DC.... it just works.

NP: "Trying to Live My Life Without You" - Bob Seger

*edit* Prof, for the record, that's exactly what "End of the World" sounds like amongst a bunch of drunks. It was a staple at the Fraternity house when I was in school. I actually mastered the lyrics well enough to pull it off live once or twice, and "Leonard Bernstein" was always the crowd sing-a-long part.

... and Sylvia, those are three great calls.

Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meat Loaf. It should be a law.
And the Social Distortion version of Ring of Fire and Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls are tied for second place.

LOL - Tom Jones is awesome!

One that I will always sing along with is Squeeze's "Tempted". And George Thorogood's "Bad to the Bone" just seems natural to me to be on there.

Edit: sylvia's got something there with "Dollar Pitcher Day". Count me in!

The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go. Listening to drunks trying to do the Spanish bits is pretty funny, plus it's good for closing time.

For sheer hilarity I would say REM's "It's The End Of The World As We Know It And I Feel Fine." Even sober most people think they can sing it and innevitibly fail. I've never seen this song played amongst a large group of drunks, but I imagine it's a good time. "muh...duh duh duh duh duh duh....LEONARD BERNSTEIN"

To the same token, Temple Of the Dog's "Hunger Strike." I saw people doing it at a karaoke bar once and my wife and I had to leave because they were big biker guys with big biker buddies and it was so, so, so awful that the laughter was very hard to contain. Everyone thinks they can do the Chris Cornell part for some reason, and they just can't.

Great call opn Add It Up Sylvia. Awesome bar tune.

I agree, I would gladly embarass myself shooting pool in this bar, and I say not only Wednesday but Monday through Thursday.

******************
No real reason except that it is awesome, but Spinal Tap's Stonehenge.

Escape, aka The Pina Colada Song by Rupert Holmes. Particularly biker bars because it would be really really funny.
