I agree that they should stop their usual lying and "I'm-not- pulling-your-leg"- type-of-statements. The question is: "HOW"??? It's like a pre-requisite for politicians to do these things just to get elected. I really don't know why they want to get into politics, considering that it's the most chaotic, stressful and hypocritical environment there is. Despite this, there are still politicians who can be trusted, only that it's difficult to know who. I guess politicians lie because of the system of governance. I mean, there's so many red tape and bureaucratic BS or protocol that gets the better of them, that makes them fall out of their promises after getting elected. Up to some extent, it's so difficult to know whether there's something wrong with politicians or the system itself. If you don't "go with the flow" so to speak, there will be some people who will do a demolition job at the expense of your credibility. If you follow the system, people will look at you as if you're no better than any of them. So, whatever you do, it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. So I guess, politicians and politics are both flawed. Politicians know that already, so they should be willing to change the system, so lying pre-election wouldn't even be a pre-requisite.

wny are you always racing with time. one has whole eternity ahead. All these lies and falsehood arises from division consciousness. Only when one realises the truth that all are one and each is a part of the ONE only then these lies will stop. These politicians have to become god realised. And that my friend will take some time. it seems that the transformation which the world is so rapidly under going ,in politics, that transformation will come the last. so you need to have patience and realise'' your truth ''and in a flash all will be understood and even given to you will be knowledge and strength to change it and help it to go towards its transformation a little more faster

A private Member's Bill is to be introduced to Parliament on October 19 by a rather brave MP -- the Bill was originally named The Misrepresentation of the People Act but has been altered to something similar but not quite so direct. It aims to make it a criminal offence for a Member of Parliament to lie; if proven the miscreant can be charged and proceedings taken. Unfortunately the Bill has got as much chance of getting passed as I have of winning tonight's Euro Lottery.

Politics is mainly about power; and "service to the people" is just a campaign word to get into power. Remember, one won't hesitate to employ the dirtiest, or the trickiest, tactic to arrive on top, because once on top the benefits are more than satisfying. As the saying goes, the end justifies the means.

The people receive the government they deserve. We are sheep who constantly vote for scum. That is the pitiful little percentage of us that actually do vote. An honest man will never be elected as he would never be able to pander to the myriad of special interest groups whose asses he would have to kiss in order to get their endorsement (and money). Oh, Woe the Republic!

in the event that they simply previous the fact, they won't get votes. The question is how a good number of a lie they are telling as a decide of character. now and returned, in spite of if telling the fact, you are able to disagree with their view.

Well I think it applies to everyone, not just politicians. They are just known for lying because they do it publicly where the regular population does it behind closed doors. I think people don't even know what the truth is anymore anyways.

I agree that it is time for the lies to stop. Regrettably, the top candidates are still the ones spewing political speak - from Hilary Clinton (pleasepleaseplease no one vote for her) to Giuliani to Bush. Fortunately, there are some lesser known candidates this year who really look good. My personal fave is Huckabee: he has common sense, seems really honest (lying politician sensor didn't go off lol) and has made a difference as governor in Alabama. Vote for Huckabee!

when they feel people can accept the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. of course if that ever happened, nobody could ever be able to sell anything. then again, it would be a refreshing change to see competition based on what's least worst instead of what's most best.
