and that limbaughs nomination came from a conservative law firm?

The nominees do not matter, it's who wins it.

That's common knowledge, and it is entirely distinct from the issue being debated today, which is whether or not he earned it. Personally, I don't think that making a factually inaccurate film* of oneself giving a lengthy and alarmist (but graphically stunning) lecture should qualify one for such a prestigious honor, especially for someone as hypocritical as Al Gore (private jets, a massive mansion, and no apparent intention of repenting.) Why wouldn't they give it to, say, the man who saved nearly 700 Jewish children from the Holocaust?** Isn't that distinctly more worthy of a "Peace" prize than trying to make everyone live in fear? It seems the only reason Al Gore won the prize in the first place is that he made a bunch of uber-liberal nutjobs at the Nobel Committee happy.

Well, that's strictly true. However, only specific people are invited to nominate and the law firm, on whose board Rush sits, is not one of them. Therefore his claim that he is an "accredited" nominee is a bald faced lie. His name is not among the 181 people who were legitimately nominated. Of course, the dittoheads will ignore that. They routinely ignore facts, as does Rush himself.

It doesn't even matter who has won in the last couple of decades. Teddy Roosevelt won for stopping a war. Carter and Arafat won for being a rotten president and killing jews. Go figure...

Though it is funny this happened two days after a judge in England said that Gore had to correct mistakes in his movie before it could be used for educational purposes.

Cons aren't really known for their intelligence, only their tendencies to start irrational wars.
