It was a gift from France you moppet, like the first people (European) you had there and you descend from it was a gift from the UK all the cons they had they put them all in a boat and sent them there, the Indians are the true Americans you never realised that did you? One more thing about Indians:
Colombo was Italian from Genova he learnt everything on the navy school in Portugal, at this point Portugal believed (and they had half of the route ready) they could reach India going on the opposite side of Africa (they had found India already) but the Portuguese said he wasn't prepared for that journey (with an incomplete route), so he offered himself to the Spanish (with the half Portuguese route) that's why when he arrived there called them (until nowadays) Indians, because he thought he was in India and didn't know he had just half of the route.
That's just a bit, to learn the rest I advice you to go back to school (if you ever been there...).

Located on a 12 acre island, the Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France

Are you joking? Or do you just not know? It was made by and given to us by France in a gesture of friendship in 1886. Okay according to Wikipedia: "It was agreed upon that in a joint effort the American people were to build the base, and the French people were responsible for the Statue and its assembly in the United States." So some Americans were involved in the building BUT Frenchmen Frederick August Bartholdi sculpted it &Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (you know, the guy that built the Eiffel Tower in Paris) was the engineer of the internal structure.

they didn't

Located on a 12 acre island, the Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States and is a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886, designated as a National Monument in 1924 and restored for her centennial on July 4, 1986.

Is this is wind up? Even I know from School that the French symbol for Freedom, the Statue of Liberty, was a gift to the USA in the name of friendship and good relations. It was MADE by the French and then shipped to the USA.

I suspect you are a USA nationalist and not a patriot.

Patriots have tremendous pride in their country and are open to other nations and use their ideals practices to enhance their country. Patriots use positive thinking and actions to make their country proud and the best. They make sure their country has a positive image in the eyes of the world.

Nationalists believe their country is best and debase other nations to make theirs is better and use negative thinking and actions to make their point - they are thugs!

It was a gist from France. Better question - Why is the Statue of Liberty turning it's back on the USA?

If the Statue of Liberty was made in the US, it would be holding a gun and not a flaming torch. Said statue was a gift of France to the people of the USA.

Actually the Mole person Assos. made the huge statue. They carved it with the help of the gnome's in the depths of the earth. After they were done they used their famous mind control methods to get the French to think they made it and there by footing the bill on the transportation.

Sorry, but you are incorrect.

The Americans constructed the base but the statue itself was constructed in France, and donated as a gift to America.

The construction of the statue was completed in France in July, 1884.

You silly people, he (who is probably a female and could well be non-American) is obviously phishing and loving all your answers like "It's French, you moron", don't be taken in by him! And why put it in News & Events then Current Events too? Champion Phishing! Come on folks, move on and let the sad little person enjoy their limited "fame".
Alas, by answering his/her question in this way, it disproves the theory that Americans are the "most clever people in the world".
