For those who don't know the point of the prize:
The Nobel Peace Prize (Swedish and Norwegian: Nobels fredspris) is the name of one of five Nobel Prizes bequeathed by the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel. According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize should be awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".
The Peace Prize is awarded annually in Oslo, the capital of Norway. The actual prize always is presented on the 10th of December, the anniversary of the death of Nobel. The Norwegian king is in attendance. For the past decade, the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony at the Oslo City Hall has been followed the next day by the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, which is broadcast to over 150 countries and more than 450 million households around the world.

If he's so concerned about the environment, why is he such an abuser of resources while he is asking us all to cut back? This all about money people. Are you ready for the new "carbon tax" that will result for all of this hysteria? $.50 / per gallon gasoline tax to begin. Say goodbye to your mortgage interest tax exemption if your home is 3000sq'+. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,152801,00.html
Typical Libs - taxes are always the answer to everything.
well at least gore got a prize. I'm sure it will look great somewhere in his estate, or perhaps his gulfstream jet.

I actually agree that it is a good thing that an American won it, and Al Gore and his family have every reason to be proud. I personally do not think he did anything to further world wide peace, but then I am not on the committee, and have no idea of the credentials of the other nominees. Fox News should let him have his day, despite their political differences so in answer to your question, I think they are wrong in their criticism.

One of the winners who was also announced this week is from Italy and the coverage on the Italian news channels was nothing short of spectacular. They reported on every aspect of this gentleman's life and the nationalistic pride was evident. The was no mention of his political affiliation or personal beliefs. Unfortunately, we are so divided into red and blue that we cannot even come together for this and that is shameful.

No, dissent is a very American trait, it's what has made this country great. It doesn't matter if the disapproval comes from a news corporation or an anti-war protester. It's all very American.

Ah, just to set the facts straight, Fox news didn't criticize him. A british judge did after watching the movie.

He's a fraud, why should we be proud of a fraud? He and his propaganda are an embarrassment to the United States and its a real shame that the Nobel Peace Prize has fallen so far.

Fox news is being unamerican for being a bunch of liars when they report the news. If ethics and integrity were women, then Fox news would be charged with first degree rape against both of them.

Not when it's a political statement. What does falsely scaring millions of people into a psuedo scientific belief that all is lost, have to do with peace?
