Virtual Memory is a term to mean how much more RAM your computer can or can't access. If your virtual memory is low, then you need to do some basic maintenance to your computer. Run a disc cleanup and disk defragmenter; also, download Ace Utilities off of download.com.. this will greatly speed things up. Problem solved..

Somemore RAM wouldn't hurt either.. most computers that get that message are low on RAM anyway.

Try resetting the defaults for virtual memory and see if that helps.

Letting the OS handle it is usually the best thing to do, controlling things yourself is not usually needed despite what some idiots who think advise given about Windows 95 is still relevant.

Set the maximum and minimum values to the same number. A good number is 1.5 x your actual amount of RAM. So if you have 1GB of RAM, set your virtual memory to 1536. etc.
