Don't the Norwegians know the work Peace is in there? Can anyone tell me what peace he has brought to the world?
Did I not read the dictionary correctly?

As far as I can tell he has done nothing special to promote peace throughout the world at all. They obviously gave it to him because they like what he is doing on environmental issues. Other than running around telling us the sky is falling I'm not sure what that is.....

You read the dictionary just fine dear. The Norwegians just don't understand the word. They also gave the same prize to Jimmy Carter. Jimmy and Al both have been very active making noise but neither one of them have accomplished anything. *LOL* Maybe the Norwegians are giving the prize for disturbing the Peace.

The Peace Prize is given, according to Alfred Nobel's will, "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".

And...since Al Gore and the IPCC did *nothing* in accordance with Alfred Nobel's will, it is obvious that the Peace Prize is now given to the individual advocating for the greatest socialism.

He brought the world "peace" by telling them that only rich people should pollute. As he flies around in his private jet, polluting as much as 100s of SUVs and lives in an oversized mansion, wasting as much energy as a 100 average American families, he's telling us that we need to cut back. And he charges a fortune to do so.

What makes him an "environmental expert". Is it because he has a lot of money? Is it because he once ran for president and expected the election rules to be changed so that he would have won?

I wonder if he even took high school chemistry?

Well it's hard for Americans to understand, after his incessant character assassination by right wing politics, that Gore is a centrist compared to every other governmental yardstick in the western world. The rest of the world sees his actions for what they are, whereas America sees his actions amidst a smokescreen of political defamation and obscurantist propaganda.

Sounds like another Republican jealous that the Nobel Committee doesn't give awards for warmongering and draft dodging.

Educating the world about the environmental destruction that mankind is causing sounds pretty peaceful to me.

Certainly more peaceful than invading sovereign nations for no reason other than it allows defense contractors to build more tanks and planes.

Hey, Arafat won one, too.

You know; the PLO terrorist leader.

Go figure.
