This is a good question that is impacting my family right now ! My brother who's been in/out of jail and can't keep a job got a former gf of his pregnant he's since moved out of state with my parent's and left the mother. Who has many problems of her own to raise their baby. Well, as it turned out she's not really fit to be a parent. She's a stripper and she has a toddler from a previous relationship CPS has been called numourous times for the children and finally my parents have picked up the baby for an unspecified amount of time to care for him. Since the parent's just can't get it together. I believe that "we" should worry about this epidemic and give more support to grandparents that raise their grandchildren. I think that AARP and some other elder-organizations are present but, they are hard to find. My parent's have just retired and are building a new house.. They were NOT expecting to raise one of their grandchildren.. It's put a burden on their finances as well as spending time with one another.. My mother still works (2 jobs) and my step-dad babysits while she/brother are working. I feel that it is NOT their responsibility to raise this child. It also impacts the other grandchildren in the family. Since my parents are so wrapped up in this "new" baby they have pretty much forgotten their other grandchildren my children. They have NOT gotten them anything for their birthdays they just turned 1 and 3 ! I feel that my parents DID NOT give my brother the proper "tools" if you will in making the appropriate decisions in regards to his life. Simply put, boys as well as girls need the proper sex education and how to treat the memebers of the opposite sex.. Sex has major consequenses ! My mother had me when she was a teen but, she managed to do very well for herself.. She went to school graduated and went to trade school and graduated. She's worked very hard to provide for me and my sister. My brother on the other hand is the opposite he's always being "bailed out" figuretively/realistically. So, if my parents end up raising the baby in the long term the only people they have to blame are themselves they raised my brother "poorly" in my opionion.

At least someone is taking care of those kids...but yeah, it should be viewed as an issue that the children's parents seem to be nowhere around.

because the parents didnt want the kids or have time for them, so they palm them off on their own parents ..
its ok if you dont care i guess ....
children are special to be enjoyed not passed off to toher people.. t
problem is .. you need a licence for a car & tv .. but any fool can have a child ...

because they kids on crack or teens so the give them to their mamas and grandmas just cant say no because ("some of them are just to cute!!!!!!) I SAID SOME>>>>>LOL,J/K
