I think all teams in baseball have their loyal & true fans but I wiould say most of the teams will have a few jackasses who had one too many beers & start a fight or start throwing things on the field. I think baseball should stop selling beers earlier than they do. You take a great game like baseball & add a few rowdy drunk fans & all he$$ breaks loose.

I am a Diamondbacks fan and have been watching them since their inception. These idiots who did this do not represent the rest of us. This year was a strange year. When they let luis Gonzales go many people said they were no longer D-backs fans and they lost a large fan base. They even lost a good portion of their season ticket holders. This team for some reason has not received any respect from the country or from their fans. That would be my guess for why the stadium was not packed. I live 4 hours away and their prices are so outrageous I don't go to the regular seasons games any more. I see several games during spring training in Tucson.

They will never stop selling beer. Do you know how much money that they make? That is a ridiculous pipe-dream.
The fans were wrong too. That was a good call by the ump, as he extended his arms to try to blow up the double play. It was a lot like when a Phils/Mets game earlier in the season in which it was clear that the player extended his arms, but he still went nuts trying to say that he didn't do anything wrong.
I think that if you can't sell out your home games before the day of the game in the league championship series, then you do not have a good fan base. Also, this team is young and exciting, so why isn't anyone behind them in Arizona?

I'm a Rockies fan. Diamondback fans are, as a whole, very respectful of the game and their team. This was, again, just an instance of a few idiots making everyone else look bad. Remember when Denver won the superbowls. A few drunk idiots made the real fans look bad across the country. I applaud the D-Backs fans who pointed out the perpetrators to the officials and had them removed. They are true fans of the game.

You can't categorize all the diamondbacks fans based on the actions of a few (or fifty in a stadium with 48,000). Last night's display was in poor taste - and the fact that the stadium was almost not sold out compared to the other three teams who their championship series almost immediately shows that Diamondback fans are not the most loyal or excited fans in the sport.
Go Rockies!

I wouldn't say they are the worst fans in baseball, that would imply an ongoing series of bad behavior, And as far as i know, this is the first time anything like this has happened. But to label them disgraceful fans for the actions of a few overzealous(and perhaps over intoxicated) fans is wrong.

i said earlier that we arent going to have a strong central fan base for about another 10 yrs. everyone knows that az is the home to many retirees and people from ALL over come to live here so until the natives of az in the community grow up dont expect a sell out. also, prices are ridiculous. i would sometimes rather enjoy watching my boys play on my big screen at home than paying $60 a pop at the stadium.

It seemed to be only a few fans causing the problem and many of the other fans were the ones pointing out to stadium security the problem fans.

I agree. I think it is really amazing how bad you can be at a major league baseball game. I mean, seriously. Throwing trash onto the field...!!!
They ought to do something about that. That is outrageous and disgusting. They should ban beer late in the game or something.
Go Rockies!

This problem will continue until they either ban beer sales at the games completely or stop selling beer at an earlier time than after the 6th or 7th inning. Fans don't seem to have enough intelligence to know when to stop drinking & just make complete azzes of themselves b/c they consider it the cool thing to do.
