I keep trying to find out a way to remove spyware from my computer. Are there any websites that will help you do this for FREE. Not just a download trial for so many days either. I don't have the money to pay 20 to 50 dollars for a removal program. Or can you explain to me how to remove it from my computer if I don't have to have one of those programs plz. Thanks a Bunch!!!

There are 3 programs I recommend, all free. Spybot S&D (avoid anything else with a similar name, the S&D stands for search and destroy), AdawareSE (from lavasoft.com) and Boclean (from comodo.com). Download all 3 as they look for different things. The first 2 you have to run (you may have to run them in safe mode to get rid of all spyware), the last is real time protection. If your anti-virus is out of date download AVG or Avast! - both free. You could also download the anti-virus from Comodo.com as that is free but I have not checked that one out. Only use ONE anti-virus program.

First you can go here and use Trendmicro's HouseCall. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ It will scan your pc for free and remove what it finds. Just follow the installation instructions.

Then go and get these programs: http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.html?Str=download (SmartDefrag is not a spyware removal tool, but it is a great maintenance program. I set my copy to run once every 2 weeks.)

http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000-2144_4-10752696.html?tag=lst-0-1 (Ccleaner isn't really a spyware removal tool either, but it is a must for a tidy hard drive.)

http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10746390.html?tag=lst-0-1 (I highly recommend replacing your current anti-virus program with this. It's free and really works great.)

http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10379544.html?tag=lst-0-1 (HijackThis is a great little utility, but it is really more for people that know what they are looking at. Otherwise it could be a little tricky to diagnose any problems.)

I think that's all. Run these programs one at a time as they conflict with each other if you run more than one at a time. Good luck and I hope this takes care of your pc problems. ^_^

Hijack this.
Here is the holy trinity of spyware removal. They are all free downloads and most are easy to use. Only use Hijack this in extreme cases and do some research online with it as it can be tricky.
