It's illegal to remove it, but people do. A muffler shop won't do it.
If you want more horsepower, try buying a sportscar instead.
The Lexus has good horsepower with 140 mph on the dash.
Maybe it's time to step up into a faster car if you can afford it and then you don;t have to remove anything and it also helps keep the emissions control in standards as well.

Any altercations to the exhaust system that cause it to flow better will give a boost in HP. I do not however recommend it. For starters, it's illegal. If you live in a state that requires inspections (most do) you will fail and have to replace the catalytic converter before renewing your tags.
In addition removing the cat will give you marginal gains, you might get an additional 5-10 hp, hardly noticeable behind the wheel and not worth the amount of work and headache required.
You can however invest in a free flowing exhaust designed specifically for your vehicle. These kits are available at hundreds upon hundreds of websites, expect to pay around $800 for new headers, back pipe, a high flow cat, and performance mufflers. With that said you'll still only see a HP gain of 20 at most. It's hard to squeeze big gains out of a Honda. The guys that do have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to do so...and usually compromise the integrity of their engines...i.e. they don't last long. That same investment in a bigger american made car would yield gobs of horsepower while retaining reliability.
Hope this helps!

This is a myth. Not only will this not improve your horsepower, but it is ILLEGAL, and your car will be LOUD!! If it is found that you intentionally took this off of your vehicle, there can be a lot of repercussions.
It is not worth it. You will damage the environment by removing the converter, and you won't really gain anything. Don't do it.

It will yes. This a fact not an urban myth. However, you need to consider whether or not it is really worth the hassle for an accord, which isn't a particularly torquey car unless it's a type R.
De catting is effective as long as the grunt is there to start with, but it is a messy job and you will need to re cat every time you go for an MOT.

Possibly. But in doing so, you'll be breaking the law. Additionally, if your Honda is equipped with a downstream oxygen sensor, you'll have a constant check engine light, as the oxygen sensor will be reporting that the converter is no longer functioning.
Additionally, if emissions inspections are done in your area, you'll fail on both visual inspection, and actual emissions testing.

this question comes up approximately each and every 5 minutes. the respond is an identical. it particularly is a foul theory. at the beginning, it extremely is unlawful. Your motor vehicle will fail inspection, and that often is the tip of it for you. 2d, a catalytic converter delivers minimum circulate limit to a inventory highway engine. the only element that will enhance is noise.

Removing or altering a cars emission controls there are not police that enforce that but there are roadside checking stations I would say avoid driving thru one. Fix it ticket then after you do not fix it heavy fines.
