I was about 2 months away from getting a review for a raise. A lady under me told my boss she wanted to file sexual harassment again me. The lady & I haven't have any problems before she always tell everyone at work how she in serious debt. Any way they DIDN'T have a case cause they only had her word. They took statement from all employees & they said really good things about my management style. They watch tapes from the store are everything was good.

HR said if everything checks out I would be okay. Everything checked out but I went to work the next day & they said we are going to demote you because your work is not as good as it should be. Which is BS cause since I been there that store has improved a lot. I also didn't have an assistant like other store managers and still managed to a better job than them. My employees, customers, increase profits made & decrease in losses proofs it. They wanted me gone from the start. What can I do if anything?? Advice please

She was seeking a settlement to cover your debts.

They have all my numbers & facts about the store since I been their. The store was much worst before I got their.

I also have a degree it took me less than 3 months to get the position I had. Oh yeah, and I'm a member of the protected class

first I'm very sorry, this is a terrible experience. I'd definately be looking for another job. If you asked for a transfer its a safe bet the story will follow you. Be up front about what happened and say you feel uncomfortable continuing to work with the individual after this happened, do not be bitter or negative but present this in a calm factual manner. Have your facts and figures to show how you improved this store. I do not understand why she did this, unless she wants your position, or a settlement from the company.
Why did the company want you gone from the start?
Good luck!

Why are you getting demoted before your review?

Seems like that would be an appropriate time to discuss your strengths and weaknesses, as well as lay out a plan for things to work on.

It also seems that the reasons for your demotion would have been spelled out for you.

If you care to continue to be a part of this organization, a conversation w/mgmt. is in order to identify what exactly they feel you need to work on.

Find a good lawyer. If what you're telling us is the absolute truth, and not just slanted by your own self-interest, I think you have a good case.
