A month ago we found eggs in the fire place, we just assumed they were bird eggs I went to get some clothes i had folded, opened the door, and just had an instinct to jump when i saw something in the thresh hold. It was a big black snake.i called for someone to let me out of the front of the house. really I nearly wet my clothes. I never sit in the living room anymore. That snake is still here somewhere!

Depends on what kind of snake.
If it is non-venomous, I would catch it myself and have animal control come get it.
If it was venomous, I would go someplace else until animal control or an exterminator got it out.
Non-venomous snakes don't bother me.

I live on a farm down in SE Oklahoma and we have found a snake in our home before. About a year ago, my 9 year old son is in the restroom "doing his business" when we hear him screaming at the top of his lungs. We go running in there and there he is sitting on the pot and pointing. Sure enough, there's a snake trying to slither up the wall. My husband just grabs it and takes it out back and beheads it.
My son reacted the same way I would have, bless his heart!

This happened to me when I lived in Utah. We lived next to a horse field and behind us was a river. Oh, I shot the snake and then through it in the trash.

Honestly? I woudl leave it alone and call animal rescue.
Have handled snakes before so I am not scared of them - just know NOT to go picking one up if I don't know what type they are.

grab a flute , tell my brother to call all the neighbours over, when they are all here I'm gonna start playing with my flute and I bet the snake is gonna come out and dance ~~~~

If you can find it, determine if it is a venomous one, if not, just catch it and take it outside and let it go, if it is venomous, call a Pest Control Company, don't try to kill it yourself
