depends on how your external hdd is made. if it is just an ordinary hdd plugged into a hd enclosure then fitting it internally would be simple enough. however, if your external hdd is soldered or fixed on the enclosure, it may prove to be trickier and more prone to wreckage if you don't know what you're doing.

Perhaps. If you have a PC-tower with ample space inside, all you need to do is slip the power cable and the USB cable through a hole in the back of the PC-tower. Then you could lay the external drive on the base of the inside of the PC-tower and close the side panel after you've connected the cables to the drive. Then plug the USB cable into a USB port and plug the power cable into the power source.

External would be outside, opposite of internal. :)
Yeah, just plug the USB/Firewire cable which comes with the external drive to your PC and your PC will recognize it right away.

The external HD box can sit on top of your PC or next to it.
