What kind of imaginary world? One much like our own? If so, how about:

Pierre Johnson
Edward Prusack
Joan Anderson, and
Karen Varner

Or, is it a fantastical world, with dragons or space aliens or people with magical powers? Then try:

Ozymander
Prindell (boy's names)
Ahdina
Jessima (girl's names)

Really, it all depends on what kind of story you want to write. If you're writing a story about an army, you'll have names like Major Bolding. If you're writing a story about a convent, you'll have names like Sister Innocentia. Fit the names to the story.

Girls; Syve, Rowan, Aileen, Dalia, Brenna, Brisa, Iliana, Safia, Malayka, Bukola, Sinnah, Aiyana.

boys; Jevon, Draven, Kaden, Kade, Kai, Kaiden, Keon, Gael.

as you may have noticed not as good with boys names as girls.
see if you can borrow or buy a book of babies names, and start trying to invent your own, write them down and then look at them weeks/months later. You'll see if they are any good given time. x

That's why we have phone books. So authors can come up with names. Open to any page. Close your eyes. Put your finger down and there's your name.
