Wonder why Ron Paul is lagging in "scientific" polls and Mike Huckabee is jumping ahead? Wonder no more. It turns out that Rasmussed asks voters in their phone polls if they want Giuliani, Thompson, McCain, Romney, Huckabee, or "other." Only if the respondant says "other" is Ron Paul offered as a choice. "Scientific" polls? Try "rigged"!

I always knew they were trying to sway public opinion!!

But we all knew this all along?

Didn't we?

We all know they are rigged. That's why we don't pay much attention.

That's not rigging a poll, that's a poorly worded question.
I wouldn't immediately chalk it up to Rasmussen's bias, but it would be interesting to know if any of the candidates are paying for the research.

Look at it another way. What if the question had all possible candidates vaguely associated with the Republican way of thinking? There's way more "third parties" than just Ron Paul out there campaigning for President. The question becomes a list of maybe a dozen names. If I rattled off a dozen names, most of which you didn't know, would you stay on the phone and answer the question? No.

Doesn't surprise me at all and Ron Paul ironically gets 4-5% in their polls anyways. However, in the money primary, he's dead-even with McCain and ahead of Romney as well (if you take out his loans to himself). Then there is Fred Thompson who has to ask for applause at his rallies and the pro-life, anti-gun crossdressing fascist Rudy Giuliani.

Actually, polls don't really mean much at all. Then there's that "error margin". Media is who really shapes the candidate voters will choose. Nobody likes to be on a losing team.

The only good Ron Paul is a dead one.

That's with all of them. It's in the MSM...it on talk radio...I am tired of having the same 5 people shoved down my throat. It wouldn't be so bad if one of them were actually worth something...but they all suck!

Off course they are.

John Kerry won every poll there was. as did Al Gore

How did they do as President?

Unfortunately, those electronic voting machines may well be rigged too.
