After de-worming it is usually suggested that you bring your dog back in 2 weeks later to have another stool sample checked. However, the medication you received from your vet should act fairly quickly. Definitely re-check the stool after a couple weeks. Did the vet suggest you give the puppy something like pedialyte? If not, then I do NOT recommend this. Also, did the vet determine your dog was de-hydrated or did you? Normally if an animal is severely de-hydrated it needs to be put on sub-cutaneous fluids, otherwise just make sure it has plenty of water.

Provided there is no specific medical reason for it, recovery is less than an hour after taking several cups of water. I drink a quart when my urine gets darker or cloudy, and it does the trick.
