Are you talking about the ones used by competitive swimmers? They have 2 small cups about the size of walnuts, with a strap between them. I'd say just find some that fit, and keep the water out. Look for a soft seal around the edge to conform to the contours of your face.
If you're looking for the larger style, like those used by scuba divers, you'd do best to go to a dive shop and ask for help. Each person has different preferences, but I prefer a mask with a low volume, a clear or at least translucent skirt, double seals around the edges, and a purge valve. It should let in as much light as possible, to cut down on the claustrophobic feel and tunnel vision of large, dark masks.
Hold the mask to your face without the strap going behind your head. Inhale slightly through your nose. If the mask sticks without the strap, it's a reasonably good fit. If not, set it aside and keep looking. After you find several that fit this way, then just choose based on comfort, asthetics, price, etc.

This is a really complicated question to answer. Everyone has a face that is shaped differently. They have different size noses, different cheek bones, and different bone structure in general. What works for one person may not work for another. The best thing for you to do is to try other peoples goggles until you find a pair that fit you. The most common pair of goggle I see on my team for girls are the Speedo Vanquisher, and the most common for boys are the Sweedish Racing Goggles. Both are reasonably priced.

I am a big fan of Speedo and TYR goggles which typically come with 3 nose pieces that you can switch to fit your face. The Vanquishers are my favorite--they have the male version too and many swimmers choose them. TYR has a similar style goggle. The Swedish you tend to have to break in--giving you sore eye sockets and bridge of nose for a bit. I would stay away from foam lined sockets, and the unlined sockets. Go for the silicone straps, they last longer and don't melt and get goey in the heat of the sun. Generally these types of goggles cost 15-18 dollars. If you are still unsure, go to your local swim shop that specializes in swim gear and ask for their assistance in finding the goggles that suit you.

Press the goggles to your face where you will be wearing them, they should adhere for a few seconds. If no seal is formed then you know water will seep in. If you are looking to do lap swimming with the goggles, I would encourage you to go with a quality product ($15 or more). They are worth the investment.

you should take the goggle out of it's package and put them in your face. push them a little bt until it sucks it in...if it stays its good...but if it doesnt its pretty bad since that means that hen u dive in the water...the goggles will have some watter in them...
all i have to say is that DONT buy goggles that have foam as their eye lining because once you dive in...the goggles can come off completely...

the quickest and easiest way to tell is open up the package and try them on without the strap around your head
if they stay on with a good seal they will be perfect!
