he said if we end up parting ways he would give me half. i said i would take it because i deserved it.
he cracked up.
before i retired, i made as much as he does. since i retired i do all the household crap and 90% of the errands. so, why did he laugh?

It's anyones guess as to why he laughed. Perhaps the "male ego" got the best of him for a brief moment and he thought what you said was funny. At times the male brain can process a serious comment into a joke, maybe that's what made him laugh.

Maybe he is just having a dumb day. I always try to help out around the house when I can but my wife still does the bulk of everything around here. I always try to let her know how much I appreciate what she does and would never laugh at her.

I'm with you on that, because they think because we are home we can do whatever we want. Take a nap, eat when we want, etc. I think it's BS too because cleaning the house is not that much fun. And the housecleaning ladies charge at least $10.00 an hour.
