i'd say the race is close if not even. Because as animals evolve, plants evolve with them and vice versa.
For instance, if a certain animal eats a series of plants and leaves behind all the one swith thorns, eventually the ones with thorns will be most prominent and likely to reproduce. Soon, any of that animal species that are able to bear eating the thorned plant due to a hardened tongue will flourish because they will have more of a food supply that an animal that can only eat the non thorned (which are now nearly gone). Now the thorned plants are being eaten a lot by the flourishing hardened tongue animal and only those thorned plants to have a bitter taste survive.
Thus the cycle continues, having both evolve in tandem.

i'd say in regards to the comparable. plant life colonized the land around 420 to 490 million years in the past, in there someplace. substantial evolutional advancements incorporate seed plant life or angiosperms. some plant life which incorporate timber stay so long, hundreds and hundreds of years that the generations are slower than animals; yet different plant life which incorporate dandelions have very rapid generations to allow extra mutations from one era to the subsequent. This colourful table ought to help.

On average plants have evolved faster. Proving this would be rather difficult, but this is my understanding.

You cannot answer that because it is comparing apples and oranges what exactly is evolution and what is better is a monkey better than a reptile most people will say yes because a monkey is evolved but if there is a nuclear explosion cockroaches will be the only thing left on the planet so you cannot compare.
