Regarding centret's answer, there is no such thing as "devolving" People always want to think humans are the epitome of evolution and that is simply not true. There is no goal toward anything in evolution, merely survival and reproduction of those most proficient at both.
It's also not true that modern medicine and control of the environment stops evolution. In these circumstance, evolution may favor those who couldn't survive and reproduce efficiently under other environmental conditions or with various inherited maladies.
In other words, evolution doesn't care about "improving" anything. It is simply about being best at survival and reproduction.

No. The human race stopped evolving when we began to change our environment rather than adapting to it.
In fact if one looks at the collective intelligence of people today, a good case can be made for humans devolving. People in general appear to be becoming dumber and dumber.
There is a movie, (supposedly a comedy but with more than a grain of truth), called "Idiocracy" which demonstrates this with frightening accuracy.

interior the action picture "Idiocracy" the narrator stated that devoid of organic predators to skinny out the herd, nature rewards people who can procreate the main. clever individuals are careful approximately having and elevating youngsters, yet idiots breed like rabbits. no longer that i'm getting my medical records from stupid video clips, even yet it does element out some flaws in evolution. Mutations and organic decision are too ineffective to sell speciation. organic decision purely stabilizes a inhabitants. If one animal is extra developed than something, it nevertheless has to reproduce with the inferior inhabitants. quickly its useful mutation might dissolve back into the gene pool. attempt an test. Take a six-sided die. Toss it many situations. 1s do no longer count extensive style, as they are inferior. on the top, undemanding them out. I wager you will get on the area of a 4. you are able to properly be success adequate to get on the area of a 5. in case you get a six, i'll be suspicious. you will in no way get a seven, that's needed in case you % your animal to adapt.

Yes. I read that the human brain has evolved quite significantly over the past ten thousand years which is not very long in evolutionary history. I think we'll evolve further. As we learn more about genetics there will be an irrestible temptation to create super humans which will accelerate evolution.

we will probably evolve but not noticable
one possible way out of the depths of my imagination: we will become more CO2 tolerant ie being able perform with a less Oxygen intake.
but most likly unnoticable thingd like not developing widsom teeth or smaller, less toes as we don't need them as much to balance

So long as we keep having the Darwin Awards, I think we will progress rather nicely, as the rest seem to be taking care of themselves.
