I have family that live up there in Andover (not sure how much of a difference North Andover is vs. Andover. But it is a nice area....very suburban. Andover has a nice little downtown to walk around in ....very good schools. There is a mall close by.
Boston is only about a 1/2 hr away....so you have entertainment, sports, shopping, etc going on there.
New Hamshire is also not too far...there is an amusement park up there....haven't been to it in yrs so I have no idea if its any good. You can also enjoy outdoor activities ...hiking, skiing, etc.
For the beach...you can head to Cape Cod in the summer...which is really nice.

I drive thru it on my commute every day and the only thing I've ever seen to do is eat at restaurants. There are a few farms where you can buy produce and vegetables. There are also golf courses.
