On the bus, at the store, in my MIL's living room (with her taking notes)... but I think reasonable people understand that babies must eat a lot and a quiet baby is better than a crying one! I never covered up more than just wearing a nursing shirt, as I didnt want to cover my girl's head while she was eating. I never went to the bathroom for the set-up and take-down part either, I just lifted my shirt a bit. No one can see a thing once you get the action down. I was lucky not to get any poor comments either, not from someone seeing me breastfeed. Is was the comments that came from nowhere for people that just knew that I did that were bothersome, especially when she got a bit older (and by this I mean 6 ths). Ignore any of this, and do your own thing - that makes you and your baby happy.

I have absolutely no problem with it at all. When a baby is hungry it needs to eat. You can't tell a three month old to wait.
I generally find that the people who complain about breast feeding in public are also the ones that complain when there is a screaming baby about. It's a no win situation.

As long as they do it discreetly, no problem. I saw a segment on "Montel" yesterday about this woman who invented a special pillow that you stick your arm into, cradle the baby, then there's this small blanket that comes up from inside the pillow which you drape over your breast. I thought it was really cool!

I'd much rather see a woman doing something so natural like breastfeeding than some of these guy with their pants hanging down below their underwear! NOTHING natural - or attractive - about that!

I have no problem as long as it is discrete and not done almost as a freak show. The more mothers who feed in public the more acceptabel it will become - as long as it is done with consideration and respect on all sides.

I hate it when a mother is asked to feed a baby in the toilet. I wouldn't eat my meal in a toilet so why should baby?

I think it's perfectly natural and acceptable, however, I think that today's culture sees breasts as a sexual object and not a way of feeding your child and this is where the problem lies. If people could see someone breast feeding and just think "she's feeding her child" as opposed to "wow, a breast" then we'd be fine. I didn't breast feed in public because of everyone else, however if opinions were different then I would have done.

If the baby is hungry and you have chosen to breast feed, what else can you do? Plus there are clothes you can buy now that have velcrow/zippers in the nipple area to allow you to do this discretely and many shops have baby changing/feeding facilities so really, its not all that often you see this.

I did once however, see a woman breast feeding her baby in the middle of our office! She worked in out office and had been off to have a baby and was visiting to see every1 and show off the new arrival. Feeding time came along and she just flopped out her boob and sat there without batting an eyelid. Some said it was perfectly natural but myself and a few others thought it a little inappropriate being as our office is a big office and there was no shortage of meeting rooms or other more private areas she could of done this. Just my opinion tho.

So long as its done discreetly then its fine. After all, it is the most natural thing in the world. Babies have been fed like that since time began so I don't think it is unreasonable to want to feed a hungry baby in public place so long as you are not being obvious.

Most natural thing in the world, babies don't work to a timetable and want feeding on demand, if people get offended by this then hard lines I say.

It's Normal and natural and much healthier for the child. People should get over their prejudices and realize its the way its been done since mankind has been put here. If it wasn't the natural thing to do women wouldn't have breasts or milk to feed their child.
