Yes it has helped in some way it has brought missing Children to the fore front ,instead of being locked away on some police web site to be forgotten. it has taught us that we must go out their and fight to find our children, and bring them back home.and use what ever method we can.some people might use a different method to the McCanns, some might use the same, it all depends on the circumstances. But I think a lot of people with missing Children have learnt a lot from this experience. and it has brought the case of Ben Needham into the limelight, and I hope it will bring a good result.

I do think that finding any missing child is important; important to find out the truth; it would be common for any parent to be upset that the plight of one child supersedes the finding of another; we already have people who are bored with any Maddie questions and trying to silence others who feel it still needs to be in the forefront until there is a resolution; this is what happens with the public that we get bored and need to be move on with the next sensationalized story; I am not bored and hope that we don't fall into a sense of apathy as the clock moves forward, we see it here with the Jon Benet Ramsey case and how you can find a child's body dead and bound and not have answers; if this is a lesson at all , it is one that we need to treasure every moment with our children and not let anything, job, pleasure etc get in the way of taking even the smallest of events such as watching over them, listening to them; spending every precious moment with them; we will never pass this way again, nor get this hour, minute or second back; I hope and pray that we will find Maddy so that another child doesn't vanish into thin air; each child is important and we should proceed to try to find all missing children and prevent this from happening to any child.

Yes. Ben's mother was on the news stating that she did not find it fair that Maddies case was so high profile & her son was forgotten about. She claimed it was because the McCanns had friends in high places.

While i agree & think Maddies case is so high profile because of who her parents are, i don't think it's a bad thing if Maddie ever does get returned. It doesn't matter who the childs parents are, they never chose their parents.

Ben's mother has been always looking for her son, never giving up and, of course, ONLY looking for her son. She has never been interested in create a circus around her son's disappearance, for her, the only important thing in her life is still her son.
And the reason, as other contributor put in, is because Ben is now 18.

No, Ben's mother has always tried to keep this case alive, and has never given up hope.

Different times, the media circus wasn't in play as much back then.

I don't think it's resulted in this, but may have helped.

Ben Needham's mother will never give up hope of finding her son, the updated photo of Ben would have been released anyway.

It is because it is his 18th birthday, and he is now old enough to recognise himself, therefore, they hope he will get in touch via his website, they set up for him.

70,000 Chinese children are stolen each year by child-traffickers. Aren't they just as important as these two?
