Not at awl, though your question had me in stitches. The yarn I heard is that it's the manufacturers' fault. The tailors don't cotton to these price hikes, though if prices keep going up, it wool put them back in business. Previously, their art was about to dye, and the manufacturers had been needling them about how nobody wanted those darned handmade clothes anymore. What duds!.

No. Tailors use much better stitching on their clothes than Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, etc use on their mass produced clothing. This is more labor-intensive than having some automated machine do it. They also use better material. I'm sure that tailors make a handsome profit, but many people think it is worth the price to get high-quality clothes.

I think it just seams that way. The darn tailors "let out" their true side mend they present their bill, but it's fitting. It's a common thread in a specialty craft a knit?

Yes!
No matter how they dress it up, the public are being stitched. There is a seamy side to everything these guys do, it is high time their collars were felt and the cuffs fastened on them.
Sorry to rant - I think I am losing my thread here - but they really needle me and people should cotton on to it.
Cheers, Steve.

This question caused me to knit by brow while thinking. I hemmed and hawed but finally follow the thread of your thinking. In no small measure, they are socking away big profits as long as they keep the production lines zipping along.
