I have quite a few favourite Americans John Wayne, Amelia Earhart the first woman to ever fly solo in a plane. Bill Clinton, Robin Williams (he's hillarious and a good actor),
Abraham Lincoln didn't he bring an end to slavery in America? "Don't interfere with anything in the constitution. That must be maintained, it is the only safeguard for our liberties." Abraham Lincoln take note Mr Bush.
EDIT:- Yes I love Donny Osmond he just makes me laugh when I saw him on the Kumars at No 42 and the granny was flirting with him just about had me on the floor laughing. Then on Children in Need a couple years he was singing a song and he was dancing with the granny from said show and in the middle of the song he said "And my knees are killing me." I nearly rolled off the setee laughing. I think Donny Osmond really gets the British sense of humour. He also hosts quite a few shows on British TV I think he's hosting a quiz show on BBC2 but I can't remember the name of the show.

Bill Bryson, the very, very funny travel writer.
He had the great sense to live in England for 20 years. When he went back to live in the USA, he realised it was a different country than the one he left and had the double good sense to come back here.
Don't get me wrong - I love visiting the States but there are an awful lot of WEIRDOs there.
