People are always looking for new ways to reinvent themselves...with the methods you are describing--they are just trying the oldest "new" ways to do it.

The nice thing about the world today is that we can know a lot more about other countries than we could in the old days. So, the thing is, we borrow the best.
(-: Like yoga! I love that stuff, and I'm so glad I got the chance to learn some. And watching Bride and Prejudice -- what a great movie!
But there are some aspects of Indian culture that aren't so great. Burning widows is no longer practiced, I heard, and it's a good thing, isn't it?
The point is to take the best, and leave the rest. Keep learning about other countries, but you have a good point -- we should take time to learn about our own countries, too.

The world is becoming a big melting pot. Isn't that a good thing? Surely it helps one culture understand another. Sure you will always get bigots but I think it's a good thing.

because people by nature are always intrigued by the exotic, unfamiliar and the unknown. it has a shroud of mystery which makes it exciting.
