He's given the Iranian people the confidence that their country can be a major regional power simply by his refusal to back down on Iran's nuclear development programme. And as for the impact he's made on the world stage, the fire-brand president has stirred up people living in the greater Middle East by refusing to mince his words when it comes to the U.S and Israel. Regimes in that part of the world which are friendly to the U.S. have become so afraid that their own people might begin to find that they want someone like Ahmadinejad in power, that they've begun to appeal to America to counter Iran's attempts to sow the seeds of popular revolts among the masses that they rule. Lastly, the U.N now has a new player that can be counted on to back up Hugo Chavez when it's time to give Bush a merciless verbal drubbing.

No influences whatsoever. Ahmadinejad is only a spokesperson. The real power in Iran lies with Supreme Leader of Iran.
